Everything a design practice needs, without the friction. Built around the way architects and designers actually work.
We treat every Timberzone installation as bespoke. Each board is hand-inspected before it is laid — orientation, grain, colour and character are weighed against its neighbours so the finished floor reads as one cohesive surface, not eighty individual planks.
The work is closer to cabinetmaking than conventional floor laying. Nothing is rushed. Everything is considered. The result is a floor that performs for the lifetime of the interior it sits within — and looks like it always belonged there.
From subfloor preparation to the final coat of oil, our installation team approaches every stage with the same attention to detail. We employ only highly skilled craftspeople with years of training in wood installation — many trained in the European parquetry tradition. The result is a seamlessly laid, perfectly finished floor that does justice to the material.
Our team works directly with your contractor and design lead. We arrive prepared, with all materials, adhesives, fasteners and bespoke accessories — including any specified inlays, threshold details and expansion fittings.
Every Timberzone floor is engineered specifically for fully bonded installation over wet or electric underfloor heating systems. The multi-layer construction — wear oak, birch plywood core, perpendicular oak counterbalance — is designed to withstand the temperature and humidity changes that underfloor heating introduces, without cupping, gapping or movement.
The bonded installation method also maximises thermal conductivity, so your heating system runs at a lower temperature for the same room comfort — a meaningful efficiency gain over the floor's lifetime.
New-build and refurbishment projects in flats, hotels and multi-occupancy buildings carry strict airborne and impact-noise requirements. We work alongside your acoustic consultant — or recommend one — to specify a build-up that meets Part E of the Building Regulations and any tighter project-specific targets.
Our standard acoustic options range from sound-rated sub-floor panels for major refurbishments to decibel-rated resilient layers beneath the bonded installation. Test data and product certificates are issued for handover documentation.
Once your floor is laid, the most damaging period of its life begins — the rest of the build programme. We supply protection systems calibrated to the construction stage, from breathable Correx and felt for early trades to vapour-permeable hardboard for the heavy phases. We also brief the site team on what they can and cannot do over the floor.
After handover, we provide a complete care pack: pH-neutral cleaning concentrate, microfibre application pads, and clear written guidance for the client and their housekeeping team. Any future re-oiling, light sanding or repair work can be carried out by our maintenance team.
To achieve the best possible appearance and performance from a Timberzone floor — and to ensure the warranty remains valid — please review our installer documentation in full. The guide covers acclimatisation, subfloor moisture testing, adhesive selection, expansion provision, environmental conditions on site, and post-installation handover.
The document is intended as a reference, not an exhaustive specification. For any question outside its scope, contact the Timberzone specification team directly. Failure to observe the guidelines may invalidate the floor's structural warranty.
Timberzone's hardwood floors are installed meticulously by their own team — the attention to detail is exceptional. The service that surrounds the product is what really sets them apart. They take genuine pride in looking after their clients, architects and designers.
